Full Review

This is our second CDV trip. The first one, to Amalfi, was also wonderful.  The centrally located hotel in Bologna was excellent.  The trip is very well organized, with plenty of activities each day; there was also adequate time for some shopping, etc. on our own.  The tour guides are very friendly and attentive to all of our needs.  There is a nice "family" feeling to the group.  The highlights noted above were all very memorable.  The cooking class with an amazing chef who is also an excellent but low key teacher was amazing, as was a chance to see his incredible kitchen and garden.  Venice is always magical, and the restaurant at lunchtime provided a fascinating contrast to the cuisine in Emilia Romagna, just a short train ride away.  The local guide in Venice surprised us with a wonderful vista of the city from right above the Rialto Bridge.  I didn't know what to expect at the Lamborghini factory, but the tour exceeded all of my expectations, though I didn't end up placing an order for a new car.  The two trips to the family cooking classes and dinners provided a great ride through the beautiful countryside, and the entire family were welcoming as they guided us through the preparation of two delicious meals.  CDV has created another wonderful Italian culinary experience.
